Philosophy of Practice: "My approach to chiropractic medicine, and health care in general, is a little different than most. The basic concept to my practice is that everyone is an athlete. Life is our athletic event. We have various tasks in our lives, whether they are the Olympic baby carry, endurance computer operation, or the mechanic's continuous overhead reach.
Even sitting or standing for long periods is a physical task, which can be viewed as a physical event. All high performance athletes know this: If you are not in shape for your task, you are at higher risk for injury. This is true for people who vacuum floors, repair cars, sit at computers, and yes, even for chiropractors treating patients all day.
When working with athletes, my approach is to treat the patient/athlete in order to get them back into activity quickly, easily, and safely. I use the same approach with non-athletes. I do not believe that it makes sense to drag chiropractic care on for many days, weeks, or months. I make the greatest effort to design a treatment plan to return you to normal life as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible. It will likely include treatment in the office, prescription for exercise, and special considerations, such as how to safely perform a task without injuring your body or aggravating an existing condition."
